Anne Lerner is a 20-year Tucker resident who has served the community through leadership roles in organizations including:

DeKalb County Neighborhood Watch
Winding Woods Neighborhood Association/Garden Club
Anne was elected to Tucker’s first City Council in March 2016 where she represents District Three’s more than 11,000 citizens. She served as the District One DeKalb County Planning Commissioner for three years and is a previous member of her district’s Community Council.
A 2014 Leadership DeKalb graduate, Anne has served as a Community Service Project (CSP) liaison since 2015. She was recently selected to serve on Leadership DeKalb’s Board of Directors.
Anne develops communication strategy and provides issues management, media relations support and marketing education for clients as a key member of Jackson Spalding, an Atlanta-based nationally recognized marketing/public relations agency.
After graduating from the University of Georgia, Anne began her career producing news coverage for CNN, but later felt a calling to teach. She earned a Master of Education from Mercer University and spent a decade at Stone Mountain Middle School where she was named “Teacher of the Year.” Anne views the opportunity to influence students’ lives and help them learn to make good choices as her most important professional accomplishment, and she remains a mentor to several of her former students.
Anne encourages all citizens to play active roles in their communities, working together to find solutions and maximizing opportunities to make their hometowns the best they can be.
